Calafquen Lake: a beautiful place to rest from life in Santiago

I think that the best holidays I’ve ever had was when I went to Lican Ray, a small city with lots of greenery located in the south of Chile, in the Araucania region. 

I have only once, and it was on September last year. I went with my boyfriend and his family to celebrate the national holidays, almost exactly a year ago!I can´t remember so good how time we stay, but I think something like eight days. 

It was a very relaxing holidays because a few meters from the place where we stayed, was the Calafquen lake. Every day we went to see the beautiful sunset which gave me a lot of peace. In fact, sometimes when I feel stressed, I remember these moments and I calm down a bit, imagine I’m there!

One of my favorite panoramas was going to Termas de Coñaripe, a place that has some hot springs with 50 degrees. This was near Lican Ray. It was a place surrounded by hills with a beautiful landscape. This helped me to recharge the energies of what was left of the year.

We also ate a lot of delicious food! Many empanadas (in simple terms it is a dough that inside has meat with onion and other dressings), cakes, sopaipillas (a dough with pumpkin) and mote con huesillo! (a sweet dessert that contains dehydrated peaches and their juice, along with some cooked legumes called mote). These are typical foods of my country! I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so much in my life haha.

It was a very nice trip that I would repeat definitely!
