My dream Job: Urban planner

 

When I was a child, at seven years old, my dream job was to be a famous singer. I think it was because I watched a lot of musicals and movies related to singers haha. But this idea only lasted for a while, then I realized that it was really just a girl´s thought, since the truth is I am a very shy person.

I think that since I was fifteen years old architecture was a career that I always had a mind, which in fact, is what I currently study.

In the future, I would like to have a job where I could create a better society, and thus help people who need it most.

The areas of my career that are related to this are urban planning and the design of social housing. Urbanism is what I like the most, and his work tries to make comprehensive cities that achieve sustainability, efficiency, and aesthetic harmony. In short, create better spaces in the city so that it is pleasant to be in them.

I would like to have a job where I had to travel a lot, especially in urban planning, since knowing other cities in the world, and the way they are planned, would help a lot to think and propose many other solutions in space and specifically in Santiago, a city that requires a lot of urban planning.

The work of an urban planner architect takes place in offices where you work with many other specialists from other professions, but it is also a job where you have to go out in the field, to observe, analyze and propose effective solutions in space.

I think the average salary, for someone who is just starting out, is one million Chilean pesos.
